I have 4 dogs and treat them with Heartgard for Heart worms. Interested in any other treatments that would be a little cheaper. Retired now and although I got out of the rat race, I have to live on half the cheese. Some of my buddies have packs of coon hounds and treat them with shots they get from farm stores.

Ive raised dogs for 30 years and I use Ivermec for Cattle solution 1% @ a rate of 2/10 cc per dog each month. The bottle cost about 40.00 at most farm stores and it works great. It also gets rid of round worms. The bottle is made for injection and I use a syringe to draw out about 2 cc and then squirt it on some canned dog food. My dogs gobble it up. The unused is injected back into the bottle. A bottle lasts me 2-3 years depending on how many dogs I using it on. Anytime my dogs have been checked for heartworms they are free of worms. h.h.

It works on about any parasite. I had 4-H rabbits that had ear mites, injected them with Ivomec and no more ear mites.
