8 days out and nobody has posted about the early season??? Are there no more bird hunters left on this site??? I'm getting cold sweats just thinking about that black mud coffee running through me. The sound of a buddy who had to work all night but still goes, snoring in his finisher. Good luck to all that are going and may you harvest aplenty.

today while shooting my bow in an abandoned neighborhood where development was intended (then the economy killed housing) I was appoached by a huge hummer with full tint. a guy rolls down his window and says hes the owner. I think im in trouble... nope he asks if i hunt. i say yes and he says he owns the whole abandoned neighborhood and wants me to get rid of the geese because they poop ALL OVER the place. the pond they hang by is way back and is by a cornfield. tryin to spear a few. any good recipies. i wont kill it unless im eatin it

Make sure you are following the seasons and regulations. You need a license a waterfowl stamp, HIP #, and more importantly- September 1 is the earliest you can do it. If I were you, I'd also track the guy down and get his signature on a piece of paper saying you have permission to hunt the geese.

I'll be out for sure. I also agree that Goose Jerky is great. Slices well, and tastes great.

i kinda prefer the teal hunting more than the honkers! Amen friend. I'd much rather be on water hunting ducks, instead of laying in a cornfield or cow pasture watching honkers fly over.

Im with duff on this one. At least for early season. You just cant fit the coleman stove in a finisher!!!!! Nothing beats getting into the duck blind at 4:30 setting your dekes while the elected kitchen bi$/& is cooking and brewing a pot of muddy water!!! Last season we sat back eating as birds were dropping into our spread. Then realized it was way past legal shooting.

3 of us were in a long narrow wheat stubble field that has been holding 100-150 birds. They all came in within 2-3 minutes starting at 9:07. Long storry short we ended up killing 6. They landed behind us were 2 of us had no shot due to a road being there. We still had a good time and 6 birds for 9 shots isnt that awfull bad. Good luck to all today and drink plentymof h2o!!!!! Do they sell ac units for finishers???
