After 10 years my Rocky's have finally given up the ghost. Been looking at some Danner's or Irish Setters. Looking at 800-1000 grams thinsulate, if my feet get cold I'm finished. Anyone have any thoughts on those or any others? Liked to stay south of $200. Thanks.

Lacrosse Alpha Sport 1500GM I've always had a cold feet problem. I tried several of the Rocky boots and others over the years with no luck. I took the word of another hunter but was skeptical because of the outer being rubber. I’ve had them for 3 years and I’m sold. I Googled them and the prices are running from $105 - $170 for the same boot. There is some really good deals out there.

I love my Danners, my nephew likes his alpha sports as well my sugjestion is to make sure you can keep blood flowing to your feet. I used to FREEZE out there then I learned to loossen up my laces a bit and use a medium thicknes smartwhool sock I've never had a problem sence. I use Danner Jackel's non insulated for early season and Danner Pronghorns w/ 1000 grams of thinsulate for goose season when it REALLY gets cold. I have a pair of insulated Jackels that are no longer made that I use for late deer season. The Jackel is very streamlined and compackt almost like wearing tennis shoes with a very high top. The only thing you gotta watch for with the jackel is water they say they're water proof but I beg to differ. I've never had a problem with water with the pronghorn though. Good luck
