Not a joke, but a real story that happened at work. A lady called our 911 center and the call went like this:
Dispatch: "911. What is your emergency?"
Caller: "Tell the Village to turn the hot water back on! I need to take a shower!"
Dispatch: "I'm sorry, but the Village doesn't provide hot water. It sounds like you have a problem with your hot water heater and need to call a plumber."
Caller: "Listen Missy....I've been buying my hot water from the Village for 30 years. Don't you tell me they don't sell it. Now tell them to turn it back on or I'll have your job!"
Dispatch: "OK...I'll tell them."
At that point the caller hung up. She never did call back.
Dispatch: "911. What is your emergency?"
