I just talked to the property manager at Salamonie and he told me he recommends #6 steel shot for doves. He says the #7s dust them but don't bring them down like #6. The shell limit this year is 75 rounds. He also said he informed the Walmart stores in Huntington and Wabash that they need to stock up on the steel shot shells in preparation for this hunt. Now I have killed them with #7s before but I kept the range at 30 yards and under.

I hunt at Atteburry and use #6 steel in my 20 gauge. It works pretty well out 30-40 yards. I get mine from Gander Mountain in Greenwood, but they do go fast. Last year I had to order some from Midway USA cause I could not find any in the area for 20 gauge.

#6 in steel. 7 1/2 or 8's in lead.

Duff. Was thinking T shot. Not a whole lot of shot to hit em but when you do they go down.

Since state property went non-toxic a few years ago I have used steel in 7 shot in both 20 and 28 gauge and not had any problems out to about 35 yards in either gauge.

Past 35 yards I don't think most guys are capable of hitting a dove on the wing much past that anyways, me included! I'd say you are good with any of the steel shot you can find at wally world.
Don't listen to span870 T's are way over the top! BBs can stretch your range out there to 50 yards easy but make sure you put in the XX Full choke tube! Aim for the head too.

#6's works better than #7's but they still suck when compared to lead 7.5's.
Heck I saw a big difference in promo lead 7.5's vs old WW Expert of Handicap Trap stuff.
35 yards (and farther) no big deal with lead, think that a rather harsh limit with steel.
Isn't #6 the biggest you can use on doves at F&W areas (for safety)?

Too bad they don't make a "Grey Cloud" dove load

Yes # 6 steel at Salamonie is the largest allowed.
