Coons have been really bad around here too this year, but I'm thinking it's just the neighborhood coon hunters running their dogs, which push them onto our property where they won't let their dogs go.....and I can't blame them, I showed them ours...... it's about 3 times the size of theirs....and for some reason absolutely hates coon dogs......but seems to like coons...Go figure....
And that TrapperDave comment was totally uncalled for, I know Dave, shot with him and his children many times, shared some campfires too, he's a good guy, with good values.......and he hates poachers..... almost as much as I do, we just have a very different way of dealing with them.,........

Didn't they recently change the law concerning contacting a CO after killing a nuisance animal?

used to be you had to contact within 24 hrs, last I heard it was changed to 48 hrs. Could have been changed again, i dont know. Ive been out of the nuisance wildlife control business for about four years now so I no longer keep up with it.

For every Raccoon that bites the dust another egg stands a chance to hatch into something I might like to hunt or enjoy watching in my feeders.

Please read the regulations for handling nuisance wild animals before posting what you may, might, or possibly have done.

firstwd: are these the regulations you speak of. Nuisance Animals A resident landowner or tenant may take, using legal methods, without a permit, a beaver, mink, muskrat, long-tailed weasel, red fox, gray fox, opossum, skunk, gray squirrel, fox squirrel or raccoon that is discovered damaging property and must report the taking of such animal to a conservation officer within 72 hours.

I was referring to having to have permission from the property owner, including on State property, before you release them, and not being allowed to take them to a different county.

That's no problem for me because I don't practice catch and release.
