Where in the Regulations does it say that motors cant not be used (for bowfishing)? I know trolling motors....but I have a Go Devil and it would be sweet to use.....
Thanks

bow fishing is considered fishing not hunting. it would be the same as having a motor running while trolling for strippers or the like. i will say though if your go devil makes any noise then you will probally not be able to get on the bigheads or silver carp. those things are really spooky. common carp buffalo and gar to name a few are a different story.

FWIW- you must have a fishing OR hunting license to bowfish.

Like I said, I could not find anything on it. I know all the regs except the motor part because it says nothing about it. I was muskie fishing while the CO was expaining the exceptions and it was windy and I just couldnt here him.
The noise issue, you need to come out a night with me.....Its a big trolling motor, except mine is not stock at all! Loud when running wide open.

you are allowed to use any motor while bowfishing. alot of people with go devils will keep it running to chop up the water to get the asian carp to jump. i have a 24 hp go devil surface drive, and i can tell you it makes more fish jump than a standard outboard.

I would love to try a chance for the Asian carp. Carp, if r do u ever go, I would love to come.
With the SD, we are going anywhere and everywhere and it make bowfishing a blast. Trolling motor and outboards suck. I'm glad to here I don't have to worry, except the off limit areas of lakes for no gasoline motor.
