I should probably already know this, but I'm wondering when we will hear one way or the other on the proposed rule changes. I'm particularly interested in the proposed rifle cartridge case length change. Thanks.

Since the NRC will be taking input until July 27th (their July meeting is July 19, 2011 7:00 p.m., EDT (6:00 p.m., CDT) Clifty Falls State Park, in Madison) the earliest that this could be approved is at the September NRC meeting. That meeting will be September 20, 2011 10:00 a.m., EDT (9:00 a.m., CDT), Ballroom, The Garrison, Fort Harrison State Park, Indianapolis. IF approved, it will not be in effect this deer season.

Thanks Woody.
Don't take this the wrong way, but while at the antique mall yesterday I saw your picture in one of John Trout's books. You had a nice 8 pointer taken with a pump shotgun.

Woody, when they made PCR rifles legal to use, back in July of 2007, Hunters could use PCR's for the 2007 Deer Season. Maybe they are going slow on allowing 1.8"/.357" & up rounds being made legal??

Did you buy the book? I think that one was when I hunted a cut over area and John needed to talk about cut over hunting.. BTW - John is also pretty good about telling of other's bad hits, but not his own.

IIRC, the OK on PCRs was way before July. They made it effective July 1 so that it was in the hunting guide before fall. The ONLY way the proposal could come into effect this fall is if Director Carter issued an "emergency order" and I don't see that happening..

Didn't buy it, and yes the caption related to hunting cut over areas.
