How many have killed one with archery tackle? chime in if you have. I'm just curious. I haven't heard of too many kills that way on this board. If you were hunting exclusively archery going in, have you given it up to the scatter gun?

Got my first turkey with a bow this year. Never hunted them with a shotgun, not ruling it out, but the bow sure was fun!

I've killed two with my TenPoint crossbow and Woodmaster has killed one with the same crossbow.
Very doable out of a blind...

I killed a hen turkey with archery, the first fall season we had here in Indiana. We (my son and I) were deer hunting fairbanks landings out of a pop up blind, when lo and behold a whole flock of hen turkey come strolling by. There were probably 25-30 birds in the flock, I shot 3 times hitting a hen on my 3rd shot, she was about 25 yards out at the time.
I gotta say, them turkeys had no idea what was going on, the pop ups really cover up the movement, and turkey dont smell you. My son even got off a few shots but he didn't hit nothing!

I did/have. Killed in Gibson Co. Thursday April 26, @ 6:05 am. 20lbs. 10 1/2" rope 1" spurs. The bow is the only way to go after you have killed a bunch with a gun. But hey thats just MHO.

Never done it I get frustrated too early and pull out the gun. I know a guy who has killed 11 with a recurve! That is awesome, he also has 26 pope & young deer with a recurve too.........I respect him. However, he is retired and hunts everyday. 2 years ago he killed 168 deer on Dec 30th after hunting everyday till then. He has hunted everyday since turkey season started. He stuck a jake and it flew and he didn't find it........Maybe next year with all of the jakes I've seen this year, they will be loud mouth 2 year olds next year!

I took this one Wed with my Tenpoint Xbow ![](http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e291/hardwickbv/2007Turkey.jpg) I pretty well started hunting the first 1 1/2 weeks of season with the compound several years ago. I have now taken 2 with a compound and after back surgery in 1997 I quit with the bow and just picked up the crossbow in 2003 this is the second I have taken with it now. Bob
