I signed up for a bow trade on the Primitive Archer website. I challenged myself to make the best bow that I could. Here is what I ended up with. It is osage, 61" long, and 50lbs @ 26". I backed it with two rattlesnake skins that I received in a trade with a guy in Texas. The skins didn't have the black and white tails, so I painted them on the tips. I like to stop the skins right before the nocks so the string doesn't wear into them. I used 8 coats of tru-oil as a finish and it shines like a new car. I tried something new for the leather grip. I like how it turned out. This bow really seems to like the bamboo arrows that I made. It shoots hard and straight. This is by far the best bow that I have made. I hope the new owner likes it. I should be getting my trade bow in the mail sometime in the next month. I will post pictures when I get it.
