I drink close to seven cups per day & it's STRONG! Coffee Consumption and Prostate Cancer Risk doesn't necessarly mean it will slow or prevent BPH though.

But taking a supplement tablet of Zinc on a daily basis will help in that category. Do a search for "trace minerals" and determine if you are getting what your body needs. Most of our crop land is played out of naturally occurring minerals needed for good health. Have an acquaintance who is a farmer telling me several years ago that he was at a loss why a very large field of corn he had just planted was doing very poor in growing until he got back result of a soil test. His "field corn" was severely deficient in Zinc. He order up a huge load of supplement to spread on his fields, and bingo, best crop he had in years. If it's not in the soil, it's not in your food, and then it's not in your body.

But taking a supplement tablet of Zinc on a daily basis will help in that category. The efficacy of zinc supplements in preventing prostate cancer is controversial. Although several studies have shown that high cellular zinc levels inhibit prostate cancer cell growth, a recent epidemiological study showed an increased risk for prostate cancer in men who took high-dose zinc supplements. Increased cancer risk was seen with very high-dose (over 100 mg/day) or long-term (more than 10 years) zinc supplement use. The current tolerable upper intake level for zinc is 40 mg/day, established by the U.S. Institute of Medicine. Thus, it is possible that the subjects in the epidemiological study could have been in the toxic range of zinc intake. As with most therapeutics, higher doses do not always equate with an increase in efficacy.

North ... I have had some of that southern stuff and my guess is that if a guy drank enough of it he wouldnt have to wait on cancer to kill him.

2 cups a day for me. It use to be a pot, pot & 1/2 along with 2-4 sodas a day. Hardly ever drank water. In 2008 I came down with kidney stones and was hospitalized for a week. I have not had a soda since and now 2 cups of coffee a day.
