How does a landowner legally effect a "Citizen's Arrest" of a person trespassing upon their property?
What can and can't the landowner legally do in regards to making such an "arrest" and what should the landowner do after the "arrest" i.e.:report to the Sheriff, Prosecutor, other???
Thanks for any pertinent information you provide.

A "citizen's Arrest" is not a custodial arrest like you have seen or heard of on TV. The only method for a citizen to make an arrest is that they can go into their county prosecutor's office and complete and affidavit for the prosecutor. The prosecutor would then make a determination if charges were to be filed. Your best option, is to contact your local sheriff department. Obtain as much information information as you can. Information that would be important is the person's information, vehicle information including the license plate number and any other information that you can provide to the officer that responds to your complaint.
