I wasn't going to hunt this season till Saturday morning, but i was out around knox today for work and on my way home i saw a guy taking some pictures in his front yard with a bird that hey had taken well if that didnt put me in the mood to hunt! I got home around 3:30 got all my gear around noticed that i can't find either of my 3 face masks, a little angry; but I was in the woods around 4. set-up and within 15 mins, got my first bird to gobble, he and a smaller jake, were in sight about 20 minutes later, I called a couple more times and the bigger bird comes haulin in. Then the heavens opened up, im talking downpour (actually found out when i came in that a tornado touched down about 10 miles away). Well then opportunity presented its self and I took the shot and dropped him where he was! I was so stoked i got up and ran to the bird saw he had expired and started dancin in the rain! He ended up being 17.5 Lbs and had 14mm spurs and a 7.5" beard, I have never had a better day than today!
Matt
Sorry about writing a book here, but i had to tell someone!

You'll never forget you're first bird. I remember mine like it was yesterday. It was only 4 years ago, but alot has happened since then

gundude---> well she already has to deal with that, ive been dropping ducks and geese since i was a kid! I really didn't get into turkey hunting till a buddy down at school was talking about it, I've been trying to bag a turkey now for awhile but between school, work and other things just had been blessed with the time to really put my heart into it, but the last year ive been able to get out in the evenings and scout and get serious about it, and last night it finally paid off.
fatherduster---> yep Knox IN
