Ok, I'm cleaning a skull for a friend, and I got 99% of the flesh off of it by boiling. Well, I set it aside and got to doing other stuff, and the flesh that remains is dried and as hard as Eskimo nipples. It's really sinewy, close to the bone stuff.
What is the best way to soften this stuff up? Do I have to simmer it again?
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hydrate it by soaking in a slow cooker or low heat. Not boiling. Then you have to get it all off, wire brush, compressed air, whatever it takes, etc.

Soak is what I was leaning towards. I remember last time I got it all off right away.... for sure the right way to do it! Thanks.

I bought one of those iron buck mounts and I need to boil a skull cap how is this done. It's still got hair and everything on it. I know it's not the easiest situation but any advice will help.
