Do any of Ya'll have a child who would like to hunt Pigeon River FWA in Mongo ( just west of Angola ) the first 3 days of the season? This is State land and the only way to get in is to get drawn, I got drawn but noone else that I hunt with did, I wont hunt alone so I'm not goin (not to mention camp by myself for 3 days, now that sounds like a BLAST : . The DNR WILL allow me to transfer my spot to a youth, under the age of 16. There are plenty of birds up there and you'd stand a decent chance of taggin one. The Youth will still need his Hunters safty, and a valid Turkey hunting lisence and game bird stamp. I know you can take someone with you however they must be checked in and issued a field permit, they wont be allowed to hunt, or even come in contact with the gun, and they must stay within 50 feet of the registered hunter. This would be a great oppertunity for a Dad to take his Son or Daughter hunting. If anyone is interested please PM me yer phone # and we'll get the hunt transferred, W'ell have to meet somewhere and I'll sign my card over to the Youth, they must be accompanied by the reservation card or they wont be allowed to hunt.

Nice gesture Gobblerfreak.....versus letting the spot go unfilled. Hopefully someone can take you up on that offer!

Are you sure you can do this? Hunting guide leaves me to believe that you can transfer it but you must take the youth yourself you are transferring it to.

Yeah I called Beth @ the Pigeon River office this mornin to be sure. She says it can be transferred to any youth under 16 and that Youth's parent can take him on the hunt. All that has to be done is I sign my Reserved hunt card over to the Youth and they take it with them to check-in each morning, along with their parent who is takin them on the hunt.
