You know, I've never been one to "get into" history-absolutely hated the subject in high school! However it's subjects like this that really bring the subject out in a sense that even I can appreciate. I think I've probably learned more history in relation to how guns have changed it than any other way. Unfortunately I just can't see too many teachers in today's way of teaching that would take a similar approach.
Thanks for another very interesting history lesson Decatur!!! and I thought my Gamo was a fairly nice gun....this one takes the cake!!!!!

In 2003, my wife and I combined a motorcycle trip with some time spent with my parents. The focal point was the Lewis & Clark bicentennial exhibit (Virginia Historical Society) in Richmond VA. I read and heard about this rifle at the exhibit and through a few lectures but we never got to actually see the gun. Thanks for sharing Decatur!
