One thing I absolutely despise is when someone sings the national anthem in that hip hoppy, "notes floating up and down the scale" style that is so popular today. While I recognize the level of skill that takes, it's inappropriate in this context. Next thing you know they'll do that irritating synth vocal crap that I hate even more. It's not a pop tune, sing it right or leave it alone.

dadfsr TOTALLY AGREE. its the national anthem. its not like its the best one hit wonder ever! haha better than YMCA for sure. (can anyone even name another village people song) seriously. don't butcher the song by singing scales. especially if its going to make you forget the words.

I heard a few notes of it and changed the channel. On a related note. I only ocassionaly peeked in to see if halftime was over yet, but looked like it was another fine effort there as well.

I know we wanna kick her while she's down, but can you imagine being a pro and screwing up that bad in front of the BIGGEST audience? Oh man!
Reaming!

Artistic interpretation is a good thing and part of living in this country. However, butchering the words is not something peope appreciate and that alone will keep her from being on this stage again.

What hits me is when they pan the audience and you see veterans with tears in their eyes. They know what the Anthem means and the cost.
