I believe they have reconsidered and given an apology to the girl as well as the parents and she will be singing the anthem once again for the school.

I don't like the way it sounds either, I do have a life, sing as written or don't sing.

Well, I'm from Martinsville and I liked the way that little girl sings, noting that I recognized the music and the lyrics. And as for that ignorant professor from Indiana University, unless he can show me his DD214, he has no business stating that it was disrespecting current and former members of the military. He must not be getting enough attention for what ever he does at IU, so he trolls the avenues of stupidity to gain his glory and 15 minutes of fame. And I don't need him to tell me that I'm predominately white, I know that already.

Speaking of .... did anyone watch the two playoff games in Chicago? The way fans were yelling and screaming while they played the National Anthem ..... that really bothered me.
I am a traditional guy when it comes to that song. Play it the way it has traditionally been played. Sing it the way it has traditionally been sung. Show proper respect from beginning to end.

+Swilk. A great example was Martina McBride for the Steelers/Jets game. Way too many people try to put their "special" spin on it to make it their own. It suits some people and that's fine. Just not for me.
I, too, was amazed at the lack of respect shown in Chicago. Kind of like the lack of respect shown during the memorial in Arizona after the killing spree a couple of weeks back. People cheering for Obama like it was a pep rally.

My two boys go to North High and a daugther grad. from there,I think she sounded good. I am a twenty two year vet and I swell with pride everytime I hear it sung and I have since I was seventeen. I too think the crowd at the play off was disrepectfull. USA RET.

Not the best that I have herad, nor the worst. Tough song to sing. Perhaps a bit more "R&B" than I'd like, but I've heard a lot worse. I sure don't get the controversy.
