Are there firearms restrictions in place for shooting 'yotes as there are for deer? Would like to be able to use my CFR on something when I move out to Indiana. And I believe they would be a worthy target for a number of reasons.

CFR's are perfectly legal for coyote hunting in IN. Seasons runs from Oct 15-Mar 15. Can be hunted all year long on private land with written permission by the landowner. Kill 'em all, I hate coyotes.

Awesome. That's kinda what I thought, but wanted to be certain. I agree completely hux. Any suggestions on public land to hunt them on? I was thinking some of the areas with put-and-take pheasant could be productive...

Anywhere in the 186,00 acre Hoosier National Forest and any of the state fish & wildlife areas. The most productive would be private farmland IMO. Shouldn't be hard to get permission, I don't know many farmers who cotton to coyotes. There's plenty of coyotes everywhere in this state so you won't have a problem finding them.

Coyotes are considered furbearers in IN, not varmints such as groundhogs, which you can also shoot with anything, and there is no season on them. Although, there doesn't seem to be as many of them as there used to be mostly because of farmers clearing fencerows and dredging ditches and such.

No firearm restrictions on squirrels or rabbits either.

I'm going to hate sounding like an idiot, but could anyone tell me what a CFR is?

Hmmm....I must own a dozen CFR's and I wasn't sure what the acronym stood for either. Just proves the old adage that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
