I am looking at planting several acres of trees and need to find a treeplanter. I am looking for a used 3pt. planter or the name of someone who does this kind of service. Any contacts will be appreciated. THANKS

If your up around the Fort Wayne area Tom Crow is out of the LEO area if not call the Division Of Forestry or your Forester in your area all on INDNR web they can tell you who does that service in your area.

Check with your local Soil Conservation Service, nearest University Forestry Dept (like Purdue's) or even your local County Extension agent. I would venture to guess that any of those resources will be able to direct to either people who have planted that amount of trees by themselves or will have contacts of firms that will.
I'll have to admit that I have been away from that type of planting for a few years....Danf probably had contact with people for that since I have.

Good luck finding one, most I've seen have been home-built and are used every year. Mark Davidson with Davidsons Greenhouse near Crawfordsville has one and does plantings (don't think he'd rent it out), PM me if you need contact info. Here's another source for someone to plant for you, Mike will definitely do it the right way. Not saying anyone else won't though.... www.arborterra.com/

Hey Rut, I got an old fashioned hand tree spade you can barrow. It will keep you in shape for next years season LOL ;D. I planted about a 1/2 acre of seedlings using an Earthquake motorized hand auger. It damned near killed me and I was a much younger and tougher man back when I did it. The trees are now almost 10 feet tall and doing pretty good if I could only keep the bucks from rubbing on them.

I'm up to around 4,000 by hand and now want a 3pt. planter. Man I have broke several spades planting trees. Those were the good ole days, now its all about ease. lol
