Does anybody know of any person that has ever received free deer meat that was donated by hunters through a program. And if you do what did the people think of the meat (if they have never eaten deer meat before).

Not through any Government program, no. That is one of the reasons my family has always donated straight to families locally.
I thought all the donated deer were ground and sent to places that provide cooked meals.

Seems like if it went to programs then the USDA would be involved?

My processor will a deer for $60 if it is donated. My deer go to my church's food pantry..

we have got a processor in town that takes it to local food pantries. and it all stays locally
