I'd think it would be a dangerous....Holding a turkey looking item in your hand, looks real stupid to me. We don't sit directly behind our dekes usually. I think it will wind up getting a turkey hunter killed. JMHO.

Even though it says to sure it only on private ground where you know there is no other hunters - how can we be sure of "no other hunters"? Not casting stones at anyone but a good number of turkey hunters do trespass. They hear a bird and go after it, fence , property line, posted sign or not. The kind of guy that would trespass is the kind that would shoot at movement when he hears a turkey. I don't think this will be in my turkey vest..

I'm with You Eric, Theres no way I set directly behind a decoy, let alone hold it and move it around. Its dangerous enough just by being a fan, then they go and throw a head on it? Nothing like settin there with a bullseye, directly in front of you'r face. I brought this exact same thing up on the NWTF website and actually got some guys mad. Turns out some of them actuelly liked it, there was even one who told a storie about crawling across an open field while holding a Jake fan in front of him . He crawled to within shooting distance of a big Tom then actually got to take a shot. These things may indeed work, but I'll tell ya right now I aint got the cahoneys to set behind it!! Anyone else who does, then Good Luck and I'll be sure to send flowers to yer funeral, when some idiot shoots ya. Remember it just takes 1

Looks like to me they won't b in business long as the first one shot holding that thing will sue. What they should do is put it on a stake & set it out as one would do a decoy. A get rich quick scheme, a gimmick , thats probally been thought of b4 & quickly dismissed as too dangerous & liablious to lawsuit.

In its defense, it does come with a stake to actually place it in the ground, but my question is why not market it that way? I almost fell out of my chair the first time I saw the video.

I saw these things at Wal-mart the other day. They look cheesy in person, trust me.
If you want a good 2-D gobbler decoy, get a Montana. The look REAL. Just be careful where and how you use them and don't run around the woods holding it unfolded.

I teach hunter education in MO. and we are trying to have no accidents during any hunting season but during turkey season, mistaking for game is the number one reason during it, that people get shot. We teach positively identifying your target. So here a person who is already pumped up because his brother already got a bird, and he sees the head and tail and boom and then one injuried seriously or dead or DRT ( dead right there ). We do not want them to wear any of the turkey gobbler colors when hunting. But people get real excited and want success and just try everything when they go hunting. Time will tell. Hunter mistake will happen.

I guess I'm not gonna have quite the same take as the rest of you. I only saw pieces of the video because I was working as I was watching. I would say if you are on private ground and are facing a wide open field and have a bird hang up a hundred yards out and nothing else is working, I don't see a reason why you couldn't flash that fan a few seconds to rile him up a little. I know what you are going say. A lot of guys won't be that careful with it and pick their spots, but for me personally I wouldn't have a problem in the right situation. I'm not sure how one could put the fan down and raise their gun without getting busted but like I said, I didn't watch the whole thing.

I do like their commercial making fun of the B-mobile !
I look at it like I do riding my Harley, I can be the safest rider in the world but it only takes one idiot to get me dead.
No thanks on this or any gobbler decoy for that matter.

I use a non-strutting jake decoy. In a woods I always get a large tree between myself and the decoy.
In the field I hunt I can see another hunter coming from 200 yards.
In the field situation the fan might be of benefit.

This thread reminds me of the guys you hear about that gear up in full deerhide complete with antlers to hunt with. I don't know if any of those stories are true, but funny non-the-less. Talk about yer Darwin Awards!!
