In the last few years the two sided pot call has gained a lot of popularity with turkey hunters. Actually it is a pot call with a playing surface on each side usually one side slate and the other glass. As an example the ones I make have a major side of bead blasted glass and a minor surface of slate. This call or at least some of the calls of this style have a very unique feature important to turkey hunters. The minor side will play with the call laying on the ground or your knee. Yep, try it, you'll like it. Minimum motion and somewhat concealed from those sharp eyes and you can still sneak out a cluck or a purr to seal the deal.

Here is another tip---We'v all had those damp mornings when a slate call sounds squirrely and the striker wants to skate on the glass call. I carry some common baking soda in a pill bottle and moisten the striker tip on my tongue and dip it in the baking soda and play the call. Try it, I think ya will like it.
Aluminum calls, both plain and adonized sometimes to be cleaned on dried. Scotch brite or sandpaper will eventually ruin your call. The solution is to use alcohol soaked shot pads or carry a little bottle of alcohol and a small rag to prepare the surface.
