So what are the best calls out there??? Don't want to spend a lot just yet. One of the locations I plan to go is out where I do a lot of rabbit hunting. There's a place close that you can run the dogs but can't hunt. We have a lot of rabbits out there so they are probably the most desired food for yotes in that area. So figure the first time I wil go out I'll try a distress rabbit call or something. I should be able to get on a hill and try to get in a place that I can see a long wood line and still be able to pick the yote up as it get's into the field. Probably will try this at night since my scope is a night scope and we will see what happens. So let me know what kind of call I should try. Also is it better to have the call or caller away from the person with the gun so the yote doesn't see your movement or can they see that well at night to not have to worry about that. BB

it would work if it sounds right. I prefer a mouth call, variable pitch the most. I had one(lost it) a Johnny stewart IIRC that had a bite button on it. I could go from a raspy rabbit to a mouse squeak by varying the bite pressure GanderMT used to carry a value pack that had a mouth call, howler and instructional dvd. Id recommend something like that for starting out. a poor mans decoy can be made by hangin a piece of fur or childs stuffed animal from a bush nearby and using fishing line attached to give it a shake ....just dont leave the monofilament in the woods

oh yeah, at night use a red light...and hide behind it. critters cant see past the light source, and red wont scare em off
