Hi everyone. I'll be moving from Fort Collins, CO to Lafayette in July to start a Ph.D program at Purdue. I'm accustomed to hunting in the backcountry (usually a 3-5 miles from the road), but I suppose I may need to decrease my range some because I won't be able to bone-out my deer in the field in Indiana. In addition to big game, I do a lot of pheasant/quail and some duck hunting with my Italian Spinone, Sam. I also turkey hunt every spring. Looking foreword to getting to know some of you.

Welcome! Plus, it's very tough, if not impossible, to get 3-5 miles from a road in Indiana! Post often!

Here's an early welcome to the Lafayette area!! Considering most of the county road system around here, especially in the agriculture areas, is based on having a road about every mile you are not going to have much luck with getting more than a mile away from roads in most places.
There are several of us here from the Lafayette area along with a couple more that work at Purdue so don't be afraid to hollar for help if you feel like it! We're a pretty neighborly bunch around here.
PS-what Ph.D. program you going into? Shoot me a PM if you want to...
