Had a nice 2.5yo, nice frame anyways, come thru cruisin fast about 15min after legal time. Circled me then came down a run 5yds from me. He was just a no brow 5pt but could have been a nice 8 if he had everything. Had him in the scope but hard to pull the trigger after seeing the 150''+ 225lb dressed bruiser a buddy killed yesterday.

Didn't see any sense in wasting my time hunting deer that don't exist..... I'm staying home and working around the house- have waaay too much to do before winter anyway.

Not nearly as good this morning for me. Saw 2 does and that was right when i was getting ready to climb down. I heard 2 shots all morning long. There was more wind then was forecasted last night before i went to bed and the 2 doe i seen were very very uneasy with it. Never have liked hunting in the wind.

Slept in here as well. Pulled something in my back draggin 2 deer out yesterday! My partner reports zero deer but sounds like a trap shoot on the neighbors property. Glad squirrels dont have horns.

Momma and a couple yearlings were in the back field when I got there. They fed the other direction and later I saw a buck chasing a doe up in that area.
Took a little nap about 8:00 and woke up to a smallish 8 pt. chasing a doe in front of me. The same 5 pt from yesterday trailed her up to me and caught up with them. While the 8 was keeping an eye on him, the doe snuck off. By the time the 8 realized it, she was across the field and he was after her. They should be in Evansville by now at the rate they were going.

I thought our deer herd was growing out of control? From what i'm hearing and seeing Deer sightings are down in general, but there are quite a few nice buck's being taken. Got my buck with bow ,but have been going out with gun to see what's going on. Disappointed in number of antlerless deer i'm seeing. Might wait till late archery to see if want to take any more doe's off farm.

After processing I rewarded myself with grilled inner loins wrapped in bacon. A few apple wood chips for a light smoky taste. Man, it doesn't get better than that. For those of you sitting in the stand reading this I bet your tummy's are growling. LOL

Well after seeing 1 doe and 4 bucks yesterday afternoon while hunting with my 6 yr old daughter, I decided to take my boy back there this morning. I put him back in the ground blind me and my daughter were in last night and I climbed in my tree stand about 50 yrds S.E of him hoping to stick a doe that passed through. It was a quiet morning again shooting wise for the area. At 7:23 I heard something coming through the heavy brush to my right at about 30yrds and out popped this visitor. That's right, a bobcat in Gibson Co,I got a couple pics with my cell and then reached for my digital to get some better pics. Just then "bang" my boy shoots and I turn to see a buck running across the bean field. He shoots a second time to which I see it hit and he stumbled to the ground, gets back up and hobbles to the woods line. I hunted for another hour and a half in hopes of a doe, but no such luck. We went back to the truck until 9:45 and then we went looking for him. Where he went into the woods was really thick and I knew he would be there bedded down. Sure enough, about 25 yrds in he was bedded down. As we approached he popped up and 1 more shot took him down. This is his 3rd buck in 5 years and another 3 pts bigger. Was a great day for both of us. One of my brothers also took a nice 8 pt Thanks for looking. James

The picture is fuzzy, but bobcats are spotted and only weigh 15 - 30 lbs and are typically stand 2 feet tall. That cat looks to have a solid coat. I can't get a real good reference of size using anything in the photo, but that animal looks bigger than 30 lbs. I have a lab that weighs 80 lbs and that animal appears bigger. Definitley a bobcat. Cougars are much larger than that. And have a really long tail. Nice pics!

It did have spots and was about the size of a cocker spaniel with a small tail. The picture does not do it justice. I wish I could have gotten my digital out and got pics with it. Was definitely not a mountain lion. Way to small. 100% sure it was a bobcat.
