I've never been a big fan of them. frictions calls are much more versitile and easier to master. I wouild bet your going to get the same number of different answers as replies. I bet there's a bunch of good ones out there. Choose one that works best for you. I will say since getting hooked up with my friends in Missouri, I've never heard a comercially made call sound as good as the ones the locals make and sell. You might try to find some hand made ones in another state like Missouri where they've been Turkey hunting a decades longer than Indiana has.

I like the new Primos "Sonic Dome" calls with the plastic "bubble" to help position it in your mouth. They sound pretty good. Great for a beginning caller. They have single, double and triple reed models, and 2 sizes. I have a small mouth (no comments Chico! :-) ) and the smaller ones fit me fine. No more taking time to trim a call!! www.primos.com/game_calls.php?cPath=29_24_49_127

Daworz, Here is what I can tell you, I like HS stuff and I also like primos, I have about 15+ in my fridge right now soaking in mouth wash (hint as how to save them and keep them pretty much germ free). The point is I have a couple different that I like. Buy a multi pack and see which one fits you right, you will gag and cough as you start out. Trim them to fit. You are just going to have to trial and error it, but I hope this helps some, keep working at it, I like a mouth call, I agree that friction calls are great, but as the old saying goes, you find them with box calls, bring close with the slate and kill them with the mouth call. It is hands free.

Give Woodhaven calls a look. I love their new Copperhead. I use mouth calls almost exclusively, but a slate and box are always handy in the vest.
