Well, you've heard about the missed chances, so I want to highlight the prefect shots that we had.
First off, we had a prefect shot made by Nathan. One shot kill in very thick weeds on the edge of a buckbrush thicket just before the deer went into standing corn. The deer was hit through the vitals, and Ray Charles could have followed the blood trail. He ran about 40 yards. Nick was his guide/mentor and did an excellent job. They had to switch stands to make the shot. Nobody could have done any better on that kill.
Seocnd, we had a young girl kill her first deer on her 11th birthday. I don't know all the details, but the deer was hit well and the shot distance was 125 yards. Prefect shot.
Last, Gerry's daughter killed her first. The stand is on a ditch and is very low because it's missing a section of ladder. So, Those two must have hunted well to keep deer from seeing them. The deer went about 40 yards after the shot, so it was a prefect shot as well.
Congrats to all the youngsters. We going to see that all three deer get mounted up for the wall to preserve the memories of their first deer.

I'm sure that the kids are thrilled.
