If you saw the news today you might have seen the Buffalo round-up from Custer State Park in South Dakota. My wife and I just got home from spending 5 spectacular days there. We saw many herds of Buffalo,Antelope,Mule deer,Whitetail deer, Mountain Rams and of course wild Donkeys. We visited Deadwood an saw the graves of WILD BILL HICKOK and CALAMITY JANE. We drove the IRON MOUNTAIN AND NEEDLES HIGHWAYS. We went up and down the Spearfish canyon highway and then took off driving through the back roads of Wyoming. We also visited the site of the massacre at Wounded Knee. As we cut through the back roads of northern Nebraska we went down a small gravel road near a very small state park and in approx. a 5 mile stretch we saw at least 150 turkey. In central S.Dakota we came across several fields where ranchers had stacked big round hay bales in open fields and at least twice we saw more than 20 Pheasants standing on those bales and I have no idea how many were on the ground. The temperature was in the low 70's dry and clear the whole time. The Aspen trees were in their fall gold color AND ALL WAS PERFECT. If you ever get a chance visit Custer State Park in the fall of the year I know I will again.

I have a good friend who owns a house right before you get to Cheyenne Crossing. Ive turkey hunted the canyon the last 2 springs. I used to think Colorado would be where I grew old but after being in the Black Hills I'm thinkin it will be there instead.

Was out that way back in the early 1980's on my way to Washington State to hunt Black Bear. Saw: Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, & also Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Beautiful Country out that way. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
