braiden saw 1 big doe and 2 small doe. He went to move for a shot and right when he pulled hammer back, the mama took off and the little ones followed. it was about 745. hoping for some more to come by.

Lookin for a txt or phone call from frstwd anytime tellin me she's got the new State record on the ground !!!! LOL

Sat morning 1 6pt., there was another one hit but the guy at the sporting goods store sold them an inappropriate bullet for their 357 rifle (125gr) and it sounds like it blew up on a shoulder - surface wound. (store clerks - grrrr). Sat evening was a bust. Sunday am one doe was recovered, one was lost and a buck that I hadn't heard how he turned out when I left camp. A few were going out last night, we'll have to wait for someone else to finish the story.

A few were going out last night, we'll have to wait for someone else to finish the story. We are still on the trail of another buck that was shot by a young lady hunter. Tim Zoll will have his bloodhound tracking service up there today. His recovery rate is 83% so we have high hopes of getting that deer. One young man took down a nice 6 pointer opening morning. As it stand now we took 3 deer - 2 bucks and a doe. ALL first time kills!! We had a couple of misses and a grazing shot on a doe. One severe case of buck fever (something we have all had) prevented one shot. The mentors in the case of the one that they thought that they hit opening morning and got away now believes that it was a miss. Hannah killed that buck (a 4 pointer) Sunday evening out of the same stand. But DBD is right.. 125 is pretty light for deer. Everyone saw deer. |
