There was a pretty good group of site members and 4 of the youth hunters showed up today to finish out hanging the stands.
They are hung and ready to go next weekend.
SWIndianaPaul dropped off a load of firewood for the campfires so the weiner roasting/marshmellows is good to go.

Thanks to all who has had a hand in preparing this hunt. I would have loved to helped out, but the 3 hour drive makes that just a tick on the difficult side. We will see you all Friday with Boy Scout popcorn for the group in tow.

I personally had a blast hangin' stands today. A normal season usually consists of just me and shawn. Its really nice to get out with other folks for a change. I have just as much fun as shawn does at this youth hunt! Couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks.

Margaret was exausted after two days of cleaning the camper, and hanging stands. She said she never knew deer hunting was so much work! I'm glad she was out there helping out today. I think it will give her a better idea of what being a hunter is. It's so much more than just showing up and harvesting a deer. She didn't make it two miles from camp and she was out in the front seat. I had to stop the truck and put her seat back....she didn't even move! Snored all the way home!
The mentors can only do so much....now it's up to her to make the magic happen. I'm already so proud of her, getting a deer will only be a bonus.
IT was nice meeting everyone this weekend.

I would also like to thank the guys that helped out. Woody, Mark, Jgrimm, all a week ago and Leslie, Kisla, Nick, Jason, Shawn, Margeret, Bigjohn, Mudcat, Timex, and to Woody again. By the way dont try to keep up with Woody, he gets around pretty dang good for an older man. All you guys made alot of work fairly easy and quick. All the spots that i went to looked very promising.
