I saw this on another forum and thought I'd get him an answer.
" I am getting a HFX slingshot from Chief AJ out of Tuscola, Ill. It draws #42@28 and can shoot arrows. Either fishing or hunting type arrows. I know that I am going to get a lot of whys but I am more looking to see if it is legal or not. I would hate to shoot a deer with it and brag and then get a visit from my friendly Conservation officer later and have him give me a ticket. I only want to try it if it is legal. Meets the draw weight and it is hand drawn and isn't mechanically held. Please, I don't want to start a why or why not thread just wanting to see if it is legal or not. Thanks, Chris Kiefner "

It is not a legal method to take a deer in Indiana.
