As much as I like my Taurus 85 Ultralight, it's a bit "thick" for CC, so I bought a new toy: Ruger LCP (Lightweight Compact Pistol)1) It's just slightly over 3/4" thick. 2) Weighs only 11 oz., the Taurus in comparison weighs 17 oz. 3) Holds 6+1 rounds of .380 compared to 5 .38 for the 85. 4) Was only $363. It has a very long trigger pull, but recoil was surprisingly light considering it's weight. Accuracy is good, at a laser ranged 100' I could hit a 20# Freon jug an acceptable number of times for a first firing. It breaks down into four components with just a small bladed screwdriver by simply pulling a single pin, cleaning took about 10 minutes.

I've been fondling those everytime I see one. So little money, so many guns. Maybe for Xmas?

I shot one of those last year. For my hands, it's simply too small- the trigger is a mile long and I had a hard time pulling it effectively with my long fingers. If it fits you well, great, but I won't be buying one any time soon. Myself, I just picked up a Kahr CW9, it's bigger, but the trigger is much, much better for a DAO.

Good deal. They're good lil guns. I have found some ammo feeds better than other. You'll probably notice she'll shoot better after a few hundred rounds. I also noted, while cleaning the gun one day that the feed ramp seemed a bit rough on the barrel - even felt like a slight burr at one edge. I used an extra fine file to smooth the ramp and then polished it with Flitz metal polish (which I use on vintage cycle parts). This was a huge improvement...although I still have some issues with the Hornady Critical Defense ( 90 gr) jamming periodically. FWIW...here is a pic of the ramp after polishing...

I'll look at the feedramp, but so far it feeds the Rems I have nicely. It does seem to have a rather erratic ejection, I've only been able to find about 20% of the spent hulls.

a buddy of mine uses a dremel tool and polish to smooth out feedramps when they become a bit rough. ive never attempted it, but im sure its just like the fine filing teqhnique. looks like a nice lil cc though. have fun.
