well i finally scored my first bird yesterday morning. after four years of turkey hunting and some of the baddest luck a guy could have, i finally down a nice gobbler.
the bird strutted and gobbled coming to my decoy i had set up on an old logging trail and i dropped the hammer on him @ 35 yds with 1 1/4 oz. #6 remiington heavy shot. he flopped around and before i could get out of my blind and retrieve him, he flopped over the side of a steep raven and tumbled all the way to the bottom, which was 100 feet or so.
he weighed 21 lbs 8 oz, 1" (26mm) spurs and had a 9 1/2 inch beard. according to the chart at the check in station he was a 3+ year old bird.
i have some pictures which i will post as soon as i can get them on my PC.
thanks to all you guys that helped me! now I'm getting ready for the fall hunt. h.h.

Congrats on your first bird , you will never forget it . Mine is still etched in my mind and every time I am on that ridge and pass by that spot I relive the moment and a broad smile comes across my face.
