Let's discuss food and cooking here..
We've had some prelinarydiscussion on this and we think a menu revision would help reduce the fatigue for the hunters & mentors if we streamline breakfast & lunch to grab & go items, and make dinner the prepared meals.
Of sourse if any of the participants want to take their afternoon rest time to prepare something special for lunch like the great fire cooked chili we had last year that would be a fine too.
I'm good for Friday evening supper again this year.
Friday supper..
Bar B Qued boneless ribs
Baked beans
Potato salad
Bread
Chips
Twinkie Dessert ( compliments of DBD870)

The breakfast menu needs to be quick fix, because a few of the guy will have a 40 min. drive to their hunting area this year.

I got very little positive feedback last year, so assuming it was a poor menu choice for the kids I did not grind extra venison sausage last season. Youall find some & we will whip-up a batch for dinner one night. Or I can make venison burger work with a few special touches.

I've got a lot of wild hog sausage to cook up and it makes good burgers too. I'll also slow cook a couple of hog hams for some pulled pork sandwiches fro one of the lunches.

I thought about skipping the chili this year. And bring the charcoal grill and grill boneless pork chops and chicken breast. I could do this when i return from work on Sat. afternoon, if i'm not back in time for the afternoon hunt. I could probably get some mac n cheese to go along with it. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds good, I'll help you with meat and getting it cooked up for the guys when they come out from hunting. Have a gas grill there and a small charcoal grill.

Sounds good to me.
That will take care of Friday and Saturday's evening meals.
Maybe we should pick up and bunch of breakfast pastries at Sams. They have all kinds and fairly cheap. That, coffee, milk and juice for mornings.

I'm good with bringing a few cases of pop and water. If there is running water I'll bring supplies for Kool-aide as well. A learned lesson from scouts, I'll do sugar free too.

As to the "soft drink" menu, Pepsi, Coke, Mt Dew, or is a variety of the Wal-Mart brand alright with everybody?
Aslo, is there any artificial color or other alergies? I had a scout that was allergic to orange and didn't want to go down that road.
