How many deer will you kill in the 2011 deer season…IF, and that is a BIG if, the DNR stays with the firearm and MZ season as they presently are and have the 2 day October and the 8 day December antlerless season?

Three is about my max, unless I found somebody that wanted some meat.

In my southern spot, as many as I can. If they walk in front of me, boom, flop. They all go to an Amish family. Around home, none. Everybody that wants deer meat here wants me to hunt, kill, field dress, transport to processor, pay for processing, and deliver it to them, all cut up, wrapped and frozen. Screw that!

No more than two. I'm the only one in my family that eats the meat.

I usually do not pass up any deer. My family is large and we eat all we kill.

Time will tell could be 0-3 but most likely between 0-1 for a years harvest under the proposed rules.

In the past I've shot 4-5 per year. Don't need that much since one kid is on her own, so probably will scale back to 3. I'll be more selective though, so the 3 will be 2 big does and one nice buck, hopefully.
The point is, I don't see the regs changing the number of deer I shoot. They sure won't increase the number of deer I shoot.

Why doesn't the poll have a choice for zero? Some of us may not be in the state, much less country, for deer season. Also, some of us don't shoot unless the desired shot can be taken. If I go home without killing a deer, I can still have a successful season.

I think the question is geard toward the effect the new regs will have on the number of deer you will shoot, not other issues that could affect your hunting.

GIVEN that big "IF"...probably about 5 or 6. Even though we only have one kid still at home (sometimes!), the last time the one at Purdue came home he took back 3 bags full of deer meat! We also feed our dogs the BARF diet (raw meaty bones & fresh vegetables, etc.) and needless to say they LOVE deer season!! IF things go the other way....looks like my kid at Purdue will be eating more pizza's & my dogs will be eating more chicken!!!

2-4 depending on opportunity and when the buck is taken. Last year I killed two and waited till the second week of ML to take my buck, passing many a deer along the way. In my mind, the changes in seasons are insignificant in the big picture and I find it amusing that some will "not hunt" because of them.

Either way if the rules pass or not it will not change how many deer I will try to harvest, I am determined to get my wife a bow kill this yr, she has been huntin w/ me about 8 yrs and still hasnt taken a deer with a bow so I am going to focus on her this yr. I hope that we together will succeed in taking around 3 or 4 this season, we dont have the room for more meat than that and I dont know if any places to donate it too, so I prolly wont try and take more than that. Even if I dont manage to harvest any this yr I will still enjoy being out there with my best hunting partner, which is my wife. We have had yrs that we havent taken any deer but we have taken meomories to last a lifetime and thats the most important part to me, thats y the proposed rules changes I dont let get to me, I would rather not see the rules change but if they do I will still be out there whenever I can and with whatever equipment I can use, taking full advantage of every opprutunity !

One buck (min. 3½ yrs. old) and up to three anlerless. If they adopt the shorter firearm and muzzleloader seasons we won't be buying any tags and only bucks will fall on my property.

Will likely only bow and muzzy hunt again this year but see no problem in harvesting 6+ deer. I usually use 2 for myself, donate a couple and have 2-3 to give away to friends. I don't think the proposed changes will impact the number of deer I harvest.
