I was told this morning that this would be available in the next few days. That was quick! www.in.gov/nrc/files/Open_Letter.pdfLooks like some changes could possibly be made. Don't let up on the emails and letters though. .

Unless they are unloading a pile of BS, it seems as if they are now realizing that the advice they got from the "major" stakeholders, was indeed not the thoughts of the "minor" stakeholders.

For or against now is the time to double your effort. Don't look back and wish you wouldn't have been afraid to voice your concerns.

Keep up with the comments and get your friends to comment as well. I have never seen or heard of the NRC taking this step. You must be getting their attention. Keep the comments polite and non threatening.

New letter sent out moments ago .
To the point and in a civil tone of disscontentment with a few suggestions tacked on for good messure. ;D
This is a new and unheard of letter .I beleive that the outcry is so much larger than we can imagine at this time and it is not letting up at all .I beleive it has grown since the press realease and it may have been the fuel we were looking for to flame the fire so hot that it had to be tended and put out in any way they can .
The "stakeholder' must be fumeing like a volcano right about now .So we are in for a second wave and it has already started today on AT. They will not take this laying down at all.

Two new letters sent. One regarding the research js2397 has compiled, and one about the whole NRC process and how we need full diclosure about the stakeholder groups, we need data, not the opinions of a few from the stakeholder groups, and how they need to clean house and give the 200,000+ deer hunters in IN not in an organized hunting group a voice as well.

Im just glad to see that they are atleast reading the comments and concerns along with the apparent concern the rules package may not be what we need here in Indiana. I am even more happier to see that all of us average hunters are spreading the word of the proposals and banning together more so than when this thread started about the proposals, instead of runnin our mouths and some takin out their agressions on the "stick and string" guys that I have seen some post on here they are takin their concerns to the proper ppl !!! I just hope if the rules still end up passing that the serious gun only hunters in the area do not then turn back to takin their aggressions on the bow hunters, its not the average archer that is the reason these rules changes came about ! But thats just My opinion !

Your right it wasn't the average hunter that came up with this package. In fact the more you dig into it the more it looks like it's the wish list of perhaps couple hundred out of 200000 hunters who just happen to be in a really good spot to persuade legislation the direction they want it to go.
We have to keep the pressure on. There should be no reason that a club of perhaps 150 members who are likely split 50/50 should speak for every deer hunter in the state, especially when it takes opportunity away from the majority of deer hunters.

The recent "Open Letter to Deer Hunters" by NRC Chairman Poynter smells like damage control. I hope he is not so politically naive that he felt the 'stakeholder' groups spoke for all deer hunters. But, you never know.

Well, that's at least two responses they've received regarding looking into the actual number of members in these groups.

Last year [?] there were several on line inquires as to what the total membership of the IDHA was, and the reply was that they would go over the files and give a firm number, but then said if you want to know, go to the monthly meetings in Indy and ask what it was. No giving out the facts seems to be the order of the day.

No notification emails before the NRC meeting & now an open letter. I just don't trust the SOB's or what they may be up to.
