From another site…Check out this picture.....spur damage!!! I took this bird about an hour after he got his tail whipped by a long spurred warrior, the gash was around 4 inches long and was at least an inch deep. Even after this whooping this bird strutted in as fast as he could get to me after I moved about 500 yards from the scene of the fight..

That wound could very well have been fatal if you hadn't finished the job!
