I have read one survey that estimated 17 minutes quicker though. Build a by pass around Terre Haute and they would get the same thing... 15 to 17 minutes savings

From what I understand, I-69 is going to allow more & more development of your natural areas & farms, where you hunt. Even down here in Ky Folks are talking about moving to Indiana to find work once I-69 is completed, which means a population boom for the "Hoosier" State once things take shape. This inturn means more land turned into Subdivisions for new homes & industrial parks, Wal-Marts, etc. Could this be the reason the State of Indiana is declaring war on the Deer Population, reducing the herd size before all this development??? Isn't I-69 going right through western KY too? I guess there are no exits being built in KY section ;D A lot of the I69 in KY is already in place with the Pennyrile and the Western KY Parkway. They will just have to do a little upgrading.

The fastest route from evansville to Indy will take approx. 3hr 15min. This also does NOT include all the stop lights along the way, and slowed traffic due to one grampa(Woody lol) on the road. The trip is 182 miles one direction.
A straight shot from evansville to indy will take 2hr 40min.(using the same mile distance, 182) at the min. speed of 70mph. Also the route will be shorter than the 182 miles, so you will also be saving time their as well.

Indiana has more people, Subdivisions, ect., than Kentucky, while KY has more farmland and wildlife areas.

Also the route will be shorter than the 182 miles, so you will also be saving time their as well. PLUS you will lose a lot of good farmland & areas inwhich to hunt on.

Spent some time awhile back looking up the cancer rates for people who lived near or very close to interstate highways. The rate for people [kids] who went to schools that sat by those concrete ribbons spiked big time about 20 years after their school time. The rate for people who just live next to them decreases dramatically in increments away from the roads. The simplest way to describe it would be a "ticking time bomb." Scares me, and I'm not afraid of anything.

I check the Obituraries & Death Causes in the Evansville Paper "online". Once I added up the ages of those who died in that area and the average age was 54 years old!!

Must be all those coal fired power plants that the Kenyan wants to get rid off. This country is being pushed down a road by vicarious means in a hurry. If we don't slow down pretty quick, that hidden turn is going to pop up before we know it.

This is a great read, I call BS on the average life span of 54 years old for those in the Evansville paper. Maybe one day but that is not even worth mentioning. DRS you sure do know how to spout your facts!
Speaking of the coal plants, did anyone else hear about the big hit Hoosier Energy got slammed with? Millions of dollars in fines and upgrades all in the name of progress. Guess who is paying for those fines, yep the consumers.... Just like Katie Couric just mentioned that it looks like tax payers will have to pay for part of the BP oil clean up...well no crap! Who did they think was going to pay for it?

DRS you sure do know how to spout your facts! YES! I just didn't take one week's worth of Deaths out of Evansville's paper. I took the ages over a few months and came up with the figure of 54. Some of the averages were actually lower & some higher. I agree with what my Father said about Cancer rates going up in Indiana & other states too. Also, while on the subject, my Sister Susan informed me earlier this month that my Brother-In-Law "Ed" has stage four throat Cancer & is undergoing Chemo & Radiation treatments. The Cancer is still confined to a tumor at the base of his tongue. He now has a Feeding Tube and Chemo port for his treatment. He lives in Clinton County Indiana and never smoked nor drinks.

Average life expectancy in Indiana is 76 yrs. old, close to the other states. I can't see Evansville being 22 yrs. less than that.

lol, more so than KY? or the rest of the country? I didn't think so.
DRS, not sure what you have against Indiana but I am glad you are happy in KY. That is a great place too but Indiana is not as doom and gloom as you paint it.

That is a great place too but Indiana is not as doom and gloom as you paint it. I have nothing against Indiana, as I was born & raised there. I am just stating what my Father said before his death. Yes, I am happy here in KY; but I am very sad that I learned my Brother-In-Law has Cancer. For the record, there is a lot of Cancer also in other states including Ky. Let get back to the subject of "Hunting" in Indiana.

Sorry for your brother's situation, truely I am. I have lost a few family members to cancer and have a friend in his 30s fighting lung cancer so you can be assured I was not laughing about your brother's cancer.
The made up stats you throw out there and perpetual doom and gloom about Indiana is what I was laughing at.
I have some family down there in Barren Co Kentucky, been a true coon's age doubled since I have visited. Used to sit on the front porch of my Great Aunts house and listen to quail wistle, hounds barking, smelling the fresh biscits, fried chicken, and the works...that was heaven. Hop in the car and hit some of our cousins cattle ponds catching big bass and gill for a huge family fish fry or over to the river for white bass....but I am sure Kentucky isn't like it used to be for me either. In fact last time I drove through ~10 yrs or more ago I saw Wal-Mart and hotels real close to where her old house used to sit. Seems KY is spreading wings too. Her place was real close to Gun Town Mountain, not sure if it is still there or not.
