Maybe I've missed something along this line in all that has been posted. If so, I apologize.
The online response form at the NRC site has a line for "organization". I know that not everyone here is in one accord on all of the proposed deer rule changes, but there seems to be a strong consensus for leaving the length of the gun & ml. seasons as is.
My question is this: What does it take to be an "organization"? Can the many of us who agree on these basic issues come up with a name and submit our comments under that banner? Id so, do you think that an organization of several hundred would carry more weight than the same number of individuals?
Input please.

I've asked the same question...what qualifies an organization to be considered legit and how does an org get invited to be a stakeholder but so far I have not found the right person who can answer this one. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in.

Same thing bothered me, saw through that as a "loaded" question. I just listed all the pertinent organizations that I belong to that could influence the decision. I'm not new at this game, just took a few minutes longer to figure it all out.

Hey, deerman1, I've looked over the attachment that you posted the other day pertaining to constitution & by-laws. Any further info on that?
It looked like a good start to me.

One thing I found interesting was the Nature Conservancy included as a stakeholder group. They own several hundred acres near me and they do not allow hunting on their property. Why should they have a say in this process??

All the wrong people have too much say in this process! We are the ones that pay to play, yet our voices fall on deaf ears when it comes to the rules of the game.

These "organizations" have become the Bernie Madoff of the outdoors, place your trust in me and I will work for you. Yeah right!

With any group, unless the constituency holds leadership accountable, there will be no true representation. Washington DC would be exhibit A of this. Short terms and active membership can keep the organization on track.
With all the potential for abuse and misuse of power, fact is, the organized will consistently beat those who are not organized.
