What a joke. I can't wait until the next online survey the INDR sends me to fill out wanting input our great states hunting rules and regulations. Maybe I just don't understand politics. I always was lead to believe that when an issue was voted on majority rules. I guess not in Indiana. I have serious doubts about our elected and appointed leaders that manages our states natural resources. Oh well at least we'll all probably get to put one in the HRB in 2015.

Apparently the only thing that survey was used for was to gauge public reaction. Based on the fact that the public didn't get to do much commenting @ today's meeting leads me to believe that public reaction to the survey wasn't very favorable......

The appointed ones in any state organization are pollitics but they are not doing the real technical work. The biologist are tasked with managing the animals and keeping their work horses (hunters/deer killers) motivated to keep shooting enough to meet their goals.
They are going to make tough decisions that will pee off alot of people sometimes. I don't have a problem with that as long as they are upfront with it the approach.
The appearance the DNR gave their work horses has been decieving from the get go. The decisions they make don't have to be popular, sure would make life easy for them if everytime they made a decision all they had to do was take a poll but they are the professionals. I trust they make better decisions then majority rule when necessary.
I guess what this demonstrates, once again, if you want to be on the inside loop is to get involved and stay there. It is a marathon and those on the inside track have been there and doing that for some time. Agree with them or not, they are out there pushing their agenda. If there is any hope to change we will have to get organized, get involved, and maintain that presence. Not an easy task at all.
I am as frustrated as most on how this is playing out. I just have to decide how much I want to do about it, I am in no way expecting these rules to be altered any from the proposals but maybe if we can get a group together we can also get on the inside loop for the next change.

When the DNR said this was all about killing more does and then left out crossbows in all archery season that right there told me this whole issue was good ol' boy's politics as usual.
Seems politicians lie and deceive so much to get elected they don't know how to conduct business any other way. Thats whats wrong with America now, corruption and dirty politics that start at the local government level and continue right up to Washington. h.h.
