The IDNR thinks that if they cut the gun and MZ seasons that they will kill more deer, preferably does.
Then why, oh why, in the very same package of proposals did they propose to extend the archery season in the UDZs?
" Extends the urban deer season through January 31 of the following year

They are chaseing their tail and lieing to themselves and us.My grand dad told me when I was young something that is very true that I understand and beleive to this day. A man / men can lie so much that he begins to beleive the lie himself and it becomes a reallity to them ..

What most likely happened is it's a bone that they gave to the archery folks (IBA) for taking away a few days in Oct. With a gun season in what was traditionally archery days, the archers will now have to wear orange on those days as well.....so, they wanted some sort of compensation. In this case, it's meaningless days in late Jan. that will result in very few taking aprt and also very few deer of either sex being killed.

I think we are all getting bone in one way or another! With all due respects, ALL is not getting boned. Just those that hunt the general firearms season and those below the age of 64 will be if these new rules make it to law.
