Yes sir. I think that the IDNR could have been way ahead of the game if they left the regular seasons alone and had a 9 day or a seperate two weekend season in October and the Christmas break and made all tags a VERY nominal fee. I think all hunters would jump to help out then. They ask for our help and then say, " BTW, we are reducing your buck hunting days". NOT good. High tag prices and killing more deer do not go hand in hand.. never mind processing fees. I agree!! BTW, I'm so cheap that I spend all day processing and grinding my own deer! Mike +2

IMHO, processing your own deer is part of the total deer hunting experience.

It can get tedious, that's for sure! Especially if you have 4-5 hanging there!

I voted "yes for both", but the late one will depend on success in the early one. Also, whether they shorten the gun season will influence my decision.

Here in Ky. we are allowed ONE Buck & ONE antlerless Deer on a state permit. So if I choose to take a second Deer, after harvesting a legal Buck, it has to be antlerless.

And for most of the zones you can buy a $15 tag that lets you take 2 more does - that's even the out of state price! (You can take 2 does on the first tag but then you are done on the bucks if you do that.)

I only firearm and ML hunt. Not interested in bow or x-bow. I do the park hunts and Mil hunts though. I saw 6 or 7 deer all last season where I hunt. NO I will not participate in either hunt. I have turned down does for the last 5 years due to the population being down in the area I hunt. That said the guy 2 farms over that has the 5 shot muzzleloader will probably take the does I pass. However if I were to get invited to hunt in one of the areas where deer are overrunning the area I would participate in the Dec hunt.

Well, first off, my county has always had a antlerless bag limit of less than four, so my county won't be holding special firearms antlerless seasons -- unless they suddenly increase everyones' county bag limits to four or more, which I wouldn't put beyond them to do.
Even if my county had a special antlerless firearms season, I would definitely not hunt the October season, as I wouldn't want to spoil the hunts of bowhunters (myself included). It is hard enough to get unspooked deer within bow range in October as it is. Once the guns start going off in October, it'll be a lot worse.
It's probably doubtful that I'd even hunt the one in December, considering I always have the opportunity to tag out on does during the regular seasons anyway. I don't need a special season to do so.

Not quite sure how to answer. Can we still bowhunt for either sex those days? Either way I guess I'll be out there time willing.

Thank you for this post it looks as if this season is Business as usual thank god We all get at least one more regular good old fashioned season .What do you know about that. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) It looks like they have raised the antlerss tag quotas in most of the state to 4 or or left it alone cause it was already there . They are dirty and the map shows it that .They would not of rased that many counties unless they knew that they were going to change the laws talk about obvious .Man oh man will this hypocracy ever end in this state.

Boy, did I call that exactly right, or what?!!! I just checked the new regulations, and wouldn't you know, my county (Lawrence) has always been a 2 or a 3 (along with every county around me) -- now we're all 4's! ![>:(](https://www.indianagunowners.com/images/smilies/woot.gif)

They didn't change Adams or the counties surrounding it.
