Hey everyone. I'm Mike from NW Indiana (Michigan City). I am currently 22, and moved up here when I was 13. Since then I haven't hunted, but miss it dearly as it was something that I used to love doing with my father as far back as I remember. So I made a decision this year to get back into it.
So I'm going to start off small. Squirrel/Rabbits for now, maybe some archery this year for deer as well. So I bought me a .22 pellet gun, and am preparing for the august squirrel season.
So in addition to simply saying, "hey!" I wanted to take this time to ask a few simple questions. It's been years since I hunted, and it would be the first time I went out in almost 10 years, so do you guys have any recommendations? Any thing I should know? I've looked into the various public hunting grounds in my area, but don't know much about them. I was thinking of Kingsbury, Gelena, or Fish Lake.
I've been pouring over the regulations, forums, and many a google searches trying to find information because not only do I want to have fun with it, I want to be legal and respectful towards the wilderness/environment, so any tips/advice/etc that you guys have would be a godsend.
Take care!
-Mike

Shoot to kill, eat what you shoot, leave it cleaner than you found it, don't crowd other hunters, practice safety at all times and have fun! Good luck!
