Does anyone use a commercial ground blind for turkey hunting? I know some use them for bow hunting turkeys. Anyone use them for gun hunts for turkeys? I`ve heard it said that the full ground blinds aren`t even fair for gun hunting turkeys, because the birds come to them so easily. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've got one of the scent-lined Doghouse blinds..... I only get in it when I'm gonna set up on a field and I know it's gonna be pouring the rain all day. I've only dropped one gobbler out of it....which probably puts the sucess rate with it at somewhere around 10% of the times where I've seen birds in the field that I was on... The thing I don't like about it is how it really ties you down to a spot rather being able to slide into another spot if the birds aren't going to work your way. Mine also took several attempts at being able to properly fold it up correctly...it was a pain in the arse at first!!!!

I use them. I have 3 that I set up on the property I hunt. Will have I should say. I will go to one in the morning and set in it. If I hear one close I stay there if not I will move on the bird. THey are mainly fall back type things. If nothing is talking I will go sit in one on a green field. I have the dog house and Outhouse. Look in Natchez supply. They were the cheapest when I bought mine.

I use a Double Bull with Predator camo pattern. I use it for gun hunting when it going to be likely raining a big portion of the day. It is so comfortable to sit in. I have had birds walk by the blind at 2 feet before. You could have hit them with the butt of your shotgun.
