I'm looking for advice on what products are best for teaching myself how to call a wild turkey. Right now I am somewhat confined and have LOTS of time on my hands (not house arrest but similar) so I'd like to use the time to learn a new skill.
I have a television and DVD player and obviously a computer. What I want to purchase is a system with calls and tutorial, ideally where I can record the calls on the computer and compare my 'notes' with those of a real turkey. Since I don't have access to a store, I need to send away for whatever I buy.
Unfortunately I've never hunted turkeys even though they the live on my acreage and would like to chase them when I come home, but it will help if I can learn and practice calling in the meantime.
Any and all suggestions are appreciatied. Thanks guys!

commissioner- There are a lot of good web sites out there that have products and DVD's. Online there is www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/sounds_of_turkeys.html It has the sounds and does a good job of being accurate. As far as a kit.... Primo's and HS Strut have good starter packs for commercially produced calls. Look at wingsupply.com and midwestturkeycall.com also Cabelas and Bass Pro have starter kits. HS also makes a good "University 101" series of DVD's. The 3 main calls- mouth call, pot call and box call aren't hard to lear. The mouth call is the most difficult. The box is the easiest and then the pot call. If you have trouble find some or question their worth- PM me and I will help out more. I have some other resources if you want them too.
