NaNook our 11 year old chow passed this morning. Damn dog we are going to miss you. You were family. Might have to start locking the door now since you won't be here to protect us. Hell 2 year's ago she found more shed deer antler's than i did and I can't count the wounded deer she helped me find through the year's. Thank you my friend. She won a hard fight with a stupid possum but we did not notice the wound's she incurred and the infection that finally took her life. For that we are sorry. You were a good dog and may u r.i.p. I'll will never forget u finding me in every damn tree stand on our 150 acre farm. weather it be daylight or dark. You trailed well. Nor will i forget you taking a half hour to eat your favorite treat a hot dog . Damn girl you once found a turkey egg and retrieve'd it back to our front step. I thought you were going to try and hatch it untill finally 4 day's later you finally ate it. GOOD FRIEND'S ARE HARD TO FIND. You will be missed and in our in heart's alway's. Here's to all men's best friend's past and present who love us unconditonally. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. NA Nook job well done.

Boone-it's been going on four years since we had to put our family dog down and I can tell from your description that NaNook was part of the family. Remember the good times and know that there has to be a special place in heaven for those loved ones too.

It's amazing how those critters find a place in our heart. Lost our doggy a few years back. Think about her every time I drop a piece of popcorn on the floor. Almost still expect her to rush over and grab it up.
Sorry for your loss.

Dang Bud you just choked me up, so sorry to hear of your loss. I put my best friend down 8.5 years ago at the age of 15, a female bluetick named Misti who I shared many a special moment with. Your post just sent alot of emotion and memories screaming into my mind. Misti was a family dog that loved my boy and our family but would lay the smackdown on every cat, possum or coon that would try and venture across the yard. She once killed 4 groundhogs in a 3 day span from a den under our old barn. She would sit like a statue at the den entrance and ambush them when they stuck their head out. That same dog would lay beside my young son and love like the purest lap dog. A good dog is hard to get over, I wish you the best. Wheres the tissue?

Sorry for your loss. I had to put my dog down last month and still get choked up over her as well as the one I put down 7 years ago. It's a shame man's best friend doesn't live longer than they do.
