Is anyone going to Bowhunt in turkey season this year?
I think I'm going to give it a go this season.

Good luck. Just give them the old Texas Heart Shot!

Thanks Woody. Do you still use Wasp SST for turkeys or do you switch to a Mechanical?

I have a hard enough time with the scattergun. I'm going to wait until I get the first one to try the old compound.

I'm still up in the air about deciding on if I want to use my recurve or not. I haven't killed one yet so maybe I should use the shotgun. I dunno. It's a gameday decision lol.

I will put my shotgun up next year and use a bow. Out of state I will still use a shotgun.

I love archery and am avid at shooting 3D and stuff. I tried to hunt with a bow last year and found I like the scatter gun more. I like to be on the move without worrying about a blind, especially in the morning.

I killed mine last year in the afternoon on such a set up.. You are right in that "runnin and gunnin" with a bow is tough..

I've killed a bunch with the shot gun. The past two years, I've taken the bow out some. I missed one two years ago with the bow and last year just could not get one in range on days I had the bow in my hand.
I'm determined more than ever this year to take one with a bow. I've learned a thing or two in recent years. While run and gun is fun, waiting them out in one spot often pays off just before noon if you know you have birds in the area.

I may do what Woody said and hunt the field edges later in the day. I have only killed one turkey. Maybe I will need a new challege after getting a few more.
