Got drawn at Big Oaks for the 1st time this year. Was wondering if anyone had any input on which areas would be a good choice for a longbeard. Thanks for any help.

I was able to get in the property last year early, got to go on a patrol with an officer. We saw a lot of birds in 1, 13, 8 and about anywhere in the northwest corner. Hope that helps. What days did you get?

You got the best days, we got the second three last year and the birds were not very friendly to us. . Make sure that you take in your GPS, it is a huge place and very easy to get turned around. We saw some huge birds in that early patrol we took.

dakid, You can also go to an ariel picture web site like goggleearth (i think) or topozone and zoom into your area and see the structures (pine trees and creeks and such) I did and it was nice.

Thanks for the google earth idea. I pulled it up and can see where that woud be a big help in seeing the "lay of the land". I always pack my gps, even when I'm hunting familier ground. thanks for the thought though
