Went scouting Saturday morning and heard my first gobbles of the year. Music to the ears!!! Ended up seeing 6 jakes but that was it. There were a couple longbeards around but I didn't see them. Looks like to me the birds are starting to bust up. I watched a different group of birds the last couple of evenings with several hens, a couple jakes and 3 big longbeards in it. It looked a little smaller last night with the jakes gone and one of the longbeards absent as well. Won't be long now. hw

I think this weather has put a damper on gobbling so far around here. Its about to bust loose I hope.

I had around 25 gobblers about 200 yards from the house the other morning they were gobbling so much and so loud they woke me up from a dead sleep. I think its getting close !!!

I heard a gobble at work in the woods of Owen county today at 2:00 p.m. Other than that, they have been gobbling in the early mornings for a couple of weeks sporatically around here.
